Mundane turned Magical

A small altar-style console table in a modern hallway, topped with a smooth obsidian slab holding a cluster of quartz crystals, a brass moon phase tray with keys, and a ceramic incense holder shaped like a curling wolf tail releasing a thin trail of smoke. Above, a simple round mirror is framed by a string of tiny warm fairy lights, reflecting a blurred, stylish interior. The walls are painted soft charcoal, contrasted by pale oak flooring. Photographic realism with soft, diffused evening light from a nearby lamp, creating a calm yet playful glow. Shot straight-on with symmetrical framing and crisp focus, the image captures an everyday entryway transformed into a subtle, magical ritual space for a modern lifestyle.

Everywhere you look there is magic, if you’re willing to look for it. The greeting of the sun to your eyes in the bright morning, the stirring of your coffee to set the intentions for the day, to the changing of the laundry to wash away the energy of days before.

Being a Witch isn’t about perfectly planned spells and rituals, the shiny crystals or even the right color candle. It’s about weaving your magic, your intent, into everything you do, it’s who you are.  Not to say that there is never a time for an elaborate, detailed spell or ritual, because there certainly are. I have learned in my years of walking the path to do my best to not overcomplicate things, and some magics are meant to flow naturally without the practitioner being aware. I cannot tell you the number of times I have forgotten a Sabbat but still found myself doing things to honor it. Those actions warm my heart and reminds me that my magic and mundane lives are intertwined.

I used to say that I was a ‘lazy Witch’ because I didn’t have rituals planned on all the important moon phases, that I didn’t have things memorized like the meaning behind all the holidays on the wheel of the year, or certain herbs and crystals. That I didn’t know my tarot cards by heart. I made myself stop saying this, because I am not a ‘lazy Witch’, I am human and I’m not perfect; who is? Our words hold power and we should speak care; they are after all a means to manifest the life’s we want.

All this to say, that magic is found in all things. From the babbling river brook to even the rushing cars of the urban jungle. Simply look for it, you might be surprised at what magics you might find there.

Blessed Be,

The Witch
